The following informational memo was sent to parents inviting everyone to listen to the safety podcast that is posted on our website. We encourage you to listen to the summary of our safety standard response protocols and actions we have taken to ensure student safety.
The memo also addresses information about the March 14th National Student Walkout addressing school violence and in remembrance of the 17 fatalities in Parkland, Florida. We encourage you to read the letter as it addresses students’ rights if they choose to leave the school to participate in this peaceful rally. The message also addresses the guidelines that have been put in place by our district that students are expected to follow. Students do not have to participate in this walkout, but if they choose to, they must follow the guidelines. While we all stand united against school violence, school employees will not be participating in the walkout. However, school employees will be providing supervision and we have asked for an increased police presence for student safety.
Questions regarding this peaceful walkout may be directed to your child’s teacher and/or principal.
